Description

Black Creek Club is a private golf course located in Lookout Valley at the base of Raccoon Mountain, just 10 minutes from dowtown Chattanooga. The Club offers scenic views of the surrounding mountains centered around Black Creek, which meanders its way through the golf course. Opened in September, 2000, Black Creek Club was designed by Golf World's 1999 Architect of the Year, Brian Silva. Silva's first original project in the Southeast, Black Creek pays homage to the "Golden Age of Architecture" when Charles Blair Macdonald and Seth Raynor were creating their own masterpieces, such as The National Golf Links of America, Yeoman's Hall and The Chicago Golf Club. Black Creek has already received high praise in its short existence, ranging from Golfweek's Top 100 Modern Golf Courses in 2003, to Golf Digest's Top 10 Courses in Tennessee, to just recently being selected #25 in Golfweek's 2005 rankings of the Best Residential Golf Courses in America. Black Creek has also hosted numerous state championships, as well as currently serving as host course for the Nationwide Tour's Chattanooga Classic. In September, 2005, Black Creek will welcome the stroke-play portion of the 25th U.S.G.A. Mid-Amateur Championship, with The Honors Course in nearby Ooltewah serving as the host course for the championship. All of this adds up to one special place. The Black Creek Club golf course design, coupled with stringent demands in maintenance and service levels, create a golfing experience of the highest caliber, one that combines the strategy and beauty of the classic courses of the past with today's modern game.
