Description

The Torrington Country Club is the premier 18-hole private golf course in Northwestern Connecticut. The Club is known for its traditional design; true-rolling greens, demanding shot accuracy and fairways that require thoughtful shot preparation. The green on the 4th hole is widely known throughout the state as one of the fastest and most difficult in the region that elicits those shaky knees in the most advanced players as well as the unsuspecting novice. The club’s signature hole is the 155 yard par 3, 11th hole that features an elevated tee box that requires an accurate shot over a spectacular reflective pond once again to an elevated green that is well bunkered. Once on the green, putting is always an adventure on the well-pitched surface. In the most recent past, the Club has been the sight of the New England Women’s Championship, the Connecticut Open Championship that incidentally was won by J. J. Henry who is currently on the PGA Tour and the Connecticut Open Qualifier Site. This is a testimony to the regard that is accorded to the quality and playability of the course.
