Description

You’ve envisioned a club like this for you, your family, your business associates. A place to meet new friends who make you feel immediately at home. A private club where the golf course is top-ranked and the service is exemplary. A clubhouse that is stately, yet warm and welcoming.

Situated on 160 acres of rolling terrain, the golf course at Midland Hills Country Club seems spacious in this urban setting. The variety of beautiful trees located in and around provide a barrier for the course from neighboring areas, giving the golfer a great feeling of serenity. The integrity of the golf course architecture has withstood eight decades of play, providing a very interesting challenge for players of all skill levels.

Seth Raynor, golf course architect, utilized the wonderful elevation changes throughout the property in designing this magnificent course in the 1920's. Of the top 100 golf courses in the United States (as rated by Golfweek), Mr. Raynor was the course architect for 13 of these ranked courses. Locally, Somerset C.C. and Minnesota Valley C.C. are also Seth Raynor designed courses. He was an architectural partner of C. B. Macdonald, considered the "father" of golf course architecture in America.
Strategic and Classic design components are evident in all the golf holes.

The ponds add beauty and strategy for many of the holes. Large greens, with very smooth putting surfaces, along with strategic sand bunker placement add to the pleasures of playing one of the best private club courses in the area.

Amenities

The new clubhouse is located where the previous building stood and looks directly onto the 18th hole from the member dining areas. The pro shop is close to the first tee. Members may relax in the living room or proceed to one of the three member dining areas, each overlooking the 18th hole. The bar is located at one side of the Gleneagles Grill. There is both table and booth seating. The booths along the corridor create the appearance of a low wall for the Dining Room, yet allow views to the exterior. The formal dining room includes an arched ceiling, and a wine cellar.

The women's locker room is furnished with full-size wood lockers and each locker bay has a cosmetic counter. The women's lounge is adjacent to the locker room. The men's locker room is also furnished with full-size wood lockers. Both locker rooms have a sauna and share an exercise room in close proximity to the attendant's desk.
