Description

As its primary attraction, the Cardinal offers golf at its best. Most people find it very difficult to match the quality of a Pete Dye golf course when trying to explain how the course will play. A Dye-stamped course is something that has to be seen and played for one to really appreciate the artistic skills of his design concepts. There is only one way to summarize the Cardinal Golf Course he has created...A fair and equitable test of golf, whether the skill level is that of an 18-handicap player or that of a professional tournament player. The course is unique and demanding. The Pete Dye designed course embraces 18 holes, each with its own distinctive character. This par 70 course plays at 6,677 yards from the championship tees and 6,065 yards from the members tees and presents different challenges to both the low and high handicap player.It is a scenic course covering over 140 acres of well kept rolling terrain. Its two lakes and meandering creeks add to both the beauty and challenge of the Cardinal and its richly deserved reputation as one of the finest golf courses in the region. In 1989, based on design balance, memorability and esthetics, nationally published Golf Digest ranked the Cardinal Golf & Country Club course #6 in North Carolina.

Amenities

The atmosphere that pervades the clubhouse is one of friendly informality where activities are designed to suit almost every taste. Whether it be lunch, dinner or a family buffet, there is excellent food and reasonable prices. The Cardinal Room offers a more formal dining experience, while the Grill Room provides an informal atmosphere.In addition to its outstanding golf course, the Cardinal offers some of the finest tennis facilities found anywhere. There are six tennis courts, two of which are all-weather, four are clay surface. The Cardinal's Olympic swimming pool is located adjacent to the tennis courts.
